Because I've only fought TT on normal 3box instead of dealing with scrubby PuGs...

Way to ignore the rest of the post, about how SJ will NOT dictate arrogance survivability nor survivability towards TT's "magic/WS combos". As for me only doing it on normal, I'd rather do it on normal with my 3 chars instead of doing D with 5 scrubs who think multiboxing is the devil.

You can run away from ga spells so that you're out of range of a possible following Amon Drive, and ignore solo Amon Drive with /nin. It's much safer than /drg would be against TT.

That's just how FFXI's community works, why help the 117 guy do 119 content and get his 119 gear when it'll be easier and safer and faster to get people that are already 119? It makes it a self-perpetuating cycle where the rich get richer and the people left behind are screwed. Which is why it makes sense SE has continued to add alternatives, such as the Oboro weapons, to help people bridge the gap and catch up
This is ultimately why I could never get anything done for most of my FFXI career and why I hated the community for it. I got REAL lucky with my SCH Relic set. What was really pissing me off was that I was performing my duties better than all those top geared players but they didn't care about that because I was sporting RDM AF and NQ staffs(except light, dark, ice). Ok? I'M HERE TO IMPROVE MY GEAR. HELP ME OUT?

Lots of gear out there I wanted so badly but could never get in groups for. And ALL that gear is now obsolete.

I didn't say /DRG would make melee preferable to RNG, I said it would make tanking possible when melee are present. It's literally impossible right now

And I think you're dramatically overestimating the damage things deal to melee in full PDT. My RUN tanks VD AAs just fine, which is essentially a turtled melee

there is a difference if you are totally turtled up and hit for shit and deal little dmg vs. being semi-turtled up and still deal good dmg. Time is still a factor.

It's pitifully easy to hit at least 40% PDT and 900+ DEF on any melee right now in augmented delve or skirmish gear. You won't start losing battles because someone lost some DA or STP. Hell, most delve gear is already preferable because of the gigantic accuracy boost

Again, nobody is saying melee is/would be preferable, but you're greatly exaggerating the danger of AAs

All, but I don't record. You're free to convince a LS member to do it for me

It's really not a dazzling performance, though

Seriously what job trait/ability that comes by till lvl 59 would make a job so OP? SEs logic/ playerbase logic is so fail at times
The only one i can think of is innin's 30% crit rate which isn't even as good as it would have been when SE decided to have lv 80+ exist due to jobs that would sj nin now having natural DW.

Also not as good because with hate shifting around it would lower that by a lot especially if people didn't make sure all DDs were on 1 side or the opposite. Plus it decays. Though using it for it's increase to magic dmg would be interesting... especially since I think right now blm/nin dual wielding clubs right now might be more dmg than using a staff and "normal" sub

At face value you'll get INT+6 Macc+8 MAB+32 Magic Damage+248 with two Gabaxorea's, and 215 in macc skill which isnt affected by sub weapon. Bole and Mes'yohi offer the same INT/MAB/MDMG, WITHOUT the macc, so I opted for Gab, since they theoretically can be auged. According to JP site, rank 9 club is INT+4, MAB+7. Lets go with 2 rank 9 clubs giving INT+14 Macc+8 MAB+46 Magic Damage+248.

that magic damage+248 is on par with RME99's, which offer Magic Damage+248. RME's have higher macc skill (255). Claust lacks any extra damage output, Hver as well, Laev has higher potential output via MAB+60 and MACC+10, on top of Vido's MDB down (if you can get the TP, and at 5TP per 100mp spent with OccAcu2, it will be a while). Tups has lots of macc, an extra 40 MAB.

So yeah, it actually seems like a Dual Wielding club mage will have better offensive output than a staff mage, including Claust/Hver mage.
